We are focusing on the Bill 168 and OADA right now. These two amendments to the Disability Act and Occupational health and safety act. They have fines as low as $10,000 or 12 months in jail. These are not being taken lightly and the Canadian government is not taking these lightly.
Bullying has been effecting the work place for many many years and yet people are still under the thought that this is just a kid thing. You could not be any more wrong. This could be just about anything that makes a person feel uncomfortable or threatened and this will give them a higher absenteeism. The problem is that too many employers are not looking at these things and recognizing the reasons behind some of the changed behaviors.Employers must be educated in this so they can educate their employees and make sure there is a company policy in place to deal with this problem.
