There is a blitz happening with regard to Safe at Work Ontario, are you ready for this? a lot of businesses thought they were ready and they were not. There fines thousands of dollars and in some cases they were shut down. This is not a laughing matter unless you have millions and billions to give the government. You are a target right now and this is when it all starts to go down hill if you are not in compliance.

Between 2005 and 2009, 176 workers died and another 36 workers developed occupational diseases related to respiratory illnesses in the MINING SECTOR, according to claims information from the WSIB.
In October and November 2011, ministry inspectors conducted 61 visits to 36 underground mining and issued 207 orders under the OHSA, including 22 stop work orders to underground mines.
